Am I the only one that regrets that 5738 does not have a see-through case back. I'm well aware that this is such an icon that goes way back and I also get the concept that sometimes *less is more*.... but I cannot help but think that I wish that this watc...  

I’m quite happy with their decision of a solid case back. While the movement has nothing to hide, on a thin dress watch I do not consider the ability to see the movement to be critical, especially on a time only piece. But it is possible that PP might eve... 

...as it is not a shaped movement for one thing, and there would have to be some sort of spacer. And I could be wrong, but would a sapphire back add just a hair to the thickness?

...but I think this watch should be as thin as possible. Besides, you know they wouldn't lower the price, and gold costs more than glass : )

First, as you say, a see-through case back would make this watch slightly thicker and I consider its slimness (5.9 mm !) to be one of its strengths (its a sort of "complication" in itself). Then, this model isn't about displaying anything: it's simplicity...
