I understand your point, but feel differently for the following reasons.
First, as you say, a see-through case back would make this watch slightly thicker and I consider its slimness (5.9 mm !) to be one of its strengths (its a sort of "complication" in itself).
Then, this model isn't about displaying anything: it's simplicity, purity, rooted into the past, where there were no see-through case backs. So, for me, a display case back would be somehow inappropriate here.
Lastly, I see the solid case back as an opportunity for an engraving: for me, such a watch is the ideal way to celebrate something important. After having tried on the rose gold bracelet version (and found it amazing) as well as the leather strap one, I immediately thought that I would love to buy it for my 30th wedding anniversary and having something related engraved on the case back...
Just my personal thoughts and dreams, of course.

I’m quite happy with their decision of a solid case back. While the movement has nothing to hide, on a thin dress watch I do not consider the ability to see the movement to be critical, especially on a time only piece. But it is possible that PP might eve...

...as it is not a shaped movement for one thing, and there would have to be some sort of spacer. And I could be wrong, but would a sapphire back add just a hair to the thickness?
