To be fair, its the good customers and loyal collectors that should be served 1st. They propose their new pieces to them 1st. No need for them even to call or put their name, usually they call them.
Now considering that its one of the nicest patek ever, i understand your frustration, even 4 years later 
If it can make you feel better, the Paris Salon just got a few pieces, so lots of people in your case... me included
