I don't personally know Abe, and I certainly can't speak to his thoughts but only to his words. I've re-read Abe's post and don't find any reference to you "not knowing anything" as you have stated.
I think Abe's advice is valid and I would assume well intended.
Posting on a public forum requires an acceptance of opinions similar and dissimilar to your own, as long as appropriately expressed and with civility. Asking complete and unvetted strangers their opinions on how best to spend such sums of money in itself suggests a certain insecurity, however I honestly see no reason to be so hostile to Abe in response to his comments.
I'm not trying to provoke or antagonize you, just asking that you try to look objectively at Abe's post and respect his opinion- even if you don't agree. It's what makes this forum fun!
