Team,
Although having been a regular participant to other forum communities here at WPS,
(such as JLC / Vintage & Modern, plus Rolex, equally so & some others, such as GP,
Breguet & VC and having been visiting these PPro communities, I would like to share my
first steps into the Patek community here.
In the first place, it is therefore correct in saying, I am still pretty much a newbie at PP, but through contacts
mainly in the JLC Forum (with Nico, Bill and others), and have been enjoying pics and posts and also
some own postings there. These contributions, let it be articles and obviously pics, turned me also into
an avid admirer of the Patek world, its specifics & characteristics and I now was a regular reader of the
PP community here for some time, still more as a lurker, not yet an active member.
This without really engaging here or resulting in the possession of a PP. This until some 2-3 years ago.
Around that time, as I had been always loving the WT editions and being a fan thereof, I always appreciated
seeing and handling Nico’s PP 5110P, and also had some opportunities to try this one on and others alike.
Eventually some 2 1/2 years ago, after quite some lurking here and thereby fulfilling my desire,
I decided to pull the trigger on a PP 5110G, in an excellent condition (full set) at an AD, (in fact in France),
whom I had already well known for quite some time and a number of visits and several purchases of
various watches, mostly JLC, but also of other brands.
This PP WT was and is my very appreciated first step into the PP adventure, but also abyss, in a way,
a feeling I had been experiencing starting more intensily in some other brands before.
After that I was enjoying my new PP-WT but also got to deeper immerse into the PP field..
Then came the continuation of the years 2020 & 21, and until then I always had dreamed of an Aquanaut
and possibly a Nautilus, despite the recently increasing hype and frenzy about PP’s “luxury sportwatches”.
Due to a fortunate constellation I firstly found an Aquanaut, dating only one year before, which also
had a very decent price, coming from a friend of mine. - I was and still am truly happy about this
watch and wear it really frequently, on all type of occasions, almost as a “GADA” watch (Go Anywhere-
Do Anything).
Further to that, due to a pretty big business success, I then was in the lucky position to slowly
advance to my other big project of 2021, the aquisition of a Nautilus..
In fact, when comparing the classical 5711 with the 5712, my heart decided for a 5712 !
Thus, here I was, totally happy, now owning two real PP “heavyweights” plus the desired
5110G WT.. - My watch budget for 2022 seems pretty exhausted now, but boy,
I am really so happy, having been fulfilling these dreams in a rather little time period..
As a pre- final note, I know it’s still early in my PP “dreamland” but I have to say, I am really
enthused with a smile, everyday I look on these watches, which fortunate curcumstances
have presented to me.
Furthermore, I also know, that this Trio still is a rather modest and also humble beginning into
the PP realm and world, but I truly know, I am already enjoying every step in it.
To close, I just wanted to share here three pics, illustrating my joy & happiness !
WT 5510G, my first Patek - boy I still remember the day of getting it..
