Low Production=Grail?

Whit, thank you for your reply! and certainly you may be right that the sole reason for the 5020's "grail" status is low production. However, I must disagree with your more general statement  "The price point is not supported by its level of complication". From my observation, level of complication, while often a factor, is only one of many. An extreme example of my point - At Phillips May Geneva sale a stainless steel, automatic time only reference #2585 sold for in excess of $800,000 USD! This is far more than the price of the iconic low production (349 pieces in total) 2499 3rd and 4th series perpetual chrono, which in turn is far more than the perpetual chrono 3970.
