Hi Guys,
The model described as a Patek Philippe Ref. #39701 is a fake. It is a common, cheap, Asian movement that is used in numerous counterfeit watches and there is no Patek Philippe of that reference number to my knowledge (and even if there was, trust me, that one is a fake).
BTW, this thread is very far from the front page of the forum, so most participants and visitors will not see it. If you'd like to solicit more opinions and information, I'd recommend posting a new thread at the top of the forum so you can get the attention of other forum members.

I'm not found this model on the Patek website. I don't know the date of production, but i remember was all trasparent (glass in the backside). Thank you.

When they introduced the 3970 in the mid 80's there was also a ref. 3971. The 3970 came with a metal back, the 3971 with crystal back. After a while they were replaced by the 3970e, wich comes with both a metal and a crystal back. Regards, Joram

image from Antiquorum The dial seems to be the same as the 3970e. I cannot discuss values here, but it's pretty rare so it should have a little premium compared to the regular 3970e. Regards, Joram...

I bought one from NY for $50 in Chinatown!!! Its a silver metal band. Same serial #, its a fake forsure but it looks awesome and has all the real specs with it... Don't get ripped off!!!
