I'm not found this model on the Patek website.
I don't know the date of production, but i remember was all trasparent (glass in the backside).

When they introduced the 3970 in the mid 80's there was also a ref. 3971. The 3970 came with a metal back, the 3971 with crystal back. After a while they were replaced by the 3970e, wich comes with both a metal and a crystal back.

The dial seems to be the same as the 3970e. I cannot discuss values here, but it's pretty rare so it should have a little premium compared to the regular 3970e.

I put pics of PP39701W (although I'm not sure if it's real or not). It's pretty different from 3970E.
Can anybody help me to find out if it's real or not and ~ cost for this model?
I also saw another watch (with the same REF39701W) they more close to the face of 3970E.

Hi Guys,

The model described as a Patek Philippe Ref. #39701 is a fake. It is a common, cheap, Asian movement that is used in numerous counterfeit watches and there is no Patek Philippe of that reference number to my knowledge (and even if there was, trust me, that one is a fake).

BTW, this thread is very far from the front page of the forum, so most participants and visitors will not see it. If you'd like to solicit more opinions and information, I'd recommend posting a new thread at the top of the forum so you can get the attention of other forum members.

There is one of these for sale on ebay today. Is that likely to be a fake as well?

I was in contact with the person selling this on e-bay (UK) this is what he said:

I bought one from NY for $50 in Chinatown!!!

 Its a silver metal band. Same serial #, its a fake forsure but it looks awesome and has all the real specs with it...

I just bought one for $75 at a pawn shop in San Antonio, Texas.  It does look good though, and it tells the time so I'm happy.  "Real" PP watches don't live in pawn shops, in my experience...

I got one too. I think it is just a replica. But its still a nice wrist watch though.
