Is it really that bad ...

to get a new watch without plastic? I trust the source and not the plastic and if I don´t trust the source, I don´t buy - even with plastic, seal or whatever.
Another example from the same coming auction, the Roger Dubuis Only One watch. It is shown in our RD Forum, without plastic.
Will it fail, because of the missing plastic?
On top I found a wrist shot (online) of that specific watch:
It looks very nice to me, but still the same question: Will it fail at auction?
Hopefully not!

I wonder if the winner

will ever wear and enjoy it? The plastic bag I mean it's gorgeous.
The wrapper..

is akin to the "virginity" of the watch. I will not be surprised if the winner simply keeps it that way. If the individual is $ rich enough to take part in this level of bidding war, he should be rich enough to buy another 5004P as a second wearer. But "r...
Virginity

There is only one course for virginity.... Seal must be broken. We should have a bet on how much this piece will fetch. I am $450k bid, $600k offered!
It is nice to see it ...

... even when it is with plastic, only. I guess it´s kept in plastic, because (mainly) Asians prefer it like this. MTF, thanks for sharing! Oliver

I always thought that mint Patek leave Switzerland vacuum packed. Bought my first pre-owned, so never had the chance to break the seal/open the vacuum pack. But I thought it is a granted thing to have when buying new. Isn't it not ? So why is it an Asian ...
I didn´t say prefer ...

but Europeans are not that crazy about it. There haven´t been (a lot of) plastic packed watches in stock at regular ADs, before the Asians became imortant customers over here ... ;-)
I see.. You could be right that Asians are particular abt it.

So Pateks that come without plastic vacuum pack in ADs could still be brand new mint ? There was this documentary which I saw on You-Tube. Having every watch vacuum packed is like the last step of their QC chain. That gave me the "mint new pieces must com...
