That champher around the bezel is a brilliant design feature to make the overall appearance of the case look small.
The whole concept of the watch works very well and your choise in platinum is also on of the best choices, if you want to have a younger, fresher looking elegant, but also casual Patek with complications.
The 5960 is also, next to the new 5396, one of my most desired watches at the moment.
I personally perceive the 5960 in RG as a very nice fusion of a vintage looking watch with a top notch complication as the annual aperture calendar chronograph is.
Again, your choise can not be beaten and it was a real pleasure to read your post !

The cross is too big and flashy
I find the calatrava cross clasp to be a little too flashy. I prefer the more discreet look of the chevron clasp. They both fit exactly the same, the only difference is the part of the clasp that shows.
