Congratulations... and thank you!!!
Dear Roger,
Congratulations on finally obtaining your dream after such a wonderful journey of discovery.
And thank you for such a passionate and enjoyable to read post coupled with nice pictures.
Inadvertently, you have helped me in a big way.
Please see this link: patek.watchprosite.com
where I asked this forum for their opinion.
You would notice that I asked for a recommendation to choose between 5980R, 5170J, and 5960P (blue dial). In a strange way, you went from 5167 (which I did consider but felt too simple) to 5070 then 5980 before settling with 5960. This is very close to the three watches I am currently considering. The 5170 kind of in the same spirit of design with 5070. I love chronograph watches and any of these three will make me happy.
For helping me discover the joy of 5960, I thank you. I think I made up my mine.
Just one question, what make you choose the grey instead of the newly released blue dial?
Sincerely.

You got two excellent chronos.... As you said, 5070 is a classic..... 5960 is a modern step for PP.... the best of both worlds...... It is great getting your dream watch...... I wonder, why do you prefer the new clasp to the older calatrava cross? Which i...
For my taste I guess....

I had no issue with the diameter of the 5167, it was the height of the case that i couldn't used to. On my wrist it just lacked any kind of presence. I really liked the case with all of its different angles (even more than the nautilus) but in the end it ...

The point I was trying to make was that other Pateks in the Past have been almost strictly for a more mature aged man. The colors of dials, the thin cases, and smaller diameters, wouldn't appeal so much to the younger generation (like myself) who have got...

... is a real beauty ! That champher around the bezel is a brilliant design feature to make the overall appearance of the case look small. The whole concept of the watch works very well and your choise in platinum is also on of the best choices, if you wa...

Hi Roger The 5960 is also my grail watch, I am dreaming about it night and day. I am saying to myself, I will have it one day! Out of interest, how long did it take for you to move from the 5167 to 5960 and there are the 5070 and 5980 in between? Regards

I first became REALLY interested in the 5960 in late 2006. Once I took an interest in PP I just knew I had to have one. Since I couldn't go right for the 5960 I began looking for an alternative. I believe I purchased the 5167 in late 2007, so from purchas...
