I've had SOME references polished
Apr 06, 2019,14:28 PM
Polishing is a personal preference. There's not a single watch I own that sits around in a vault all the time. Therefore, ... some of more "Frequent Wears" get beat-up! If it's an "Everyday-type" of watch that's suffered a number of years of wear I usually go ahead and get it polished at the time of service. I've never sent a watch away just for polishing, however.
Especially for a Nautilus reference I would advise sending the watch exclusively through an AD to a Patek Service Center. They're used to polishing the different textures of the case ... and won't over-polish any area.
I can't dispute someone else's experience, but I've NEVER had to wait 11 months for comprehensive service and polishing ... and I've had work done on some pretty complicated references?

Hi, I'm hoping some of you more knowledgeable the I am could share some feedback. It's time for my 6 year old Nautilus 5711 1A to go in for it's first service. This will go to Patek NYC via my local AD. My question is concerning case polishing. The watch ...

Best to look after it and do not get it polished. I had very poor results from PP polishing my aquanaut and it was ruined, needed a new case afterwards- yes, it was by PP!
Great experience with NY

I had a great experience with the Stern Service Center in NY. Only you have to be very patient, I took 11 months for a Nautilus to be serviced, even so, everything was great.
Don’t polish the watch!

I have had very good experience with Henri Stern Watch Agency in New York. They stand behind their work ( though it does take forever).
