I know, in the end it definitely boils down to personal taste..
..but while I'm not in principle against customization, in that case at least I'd rather have the manufacture itself do it. These days, actually, more and more watch companies seem comfortable to create all sorts of 'unique pieces' upon request (Patek and Rolex are among the few notable quasi-exceptions), so should I go down that road, at least I'd still feel my watch is entirely 'original'. Again, I'm saying this with sincere respect/curiosity for different approaches -- this is very much a matter of taste, and we are all free to do whatever it pleases us with our watches (or *to* our watches, in this instance ;-)
What do members think of custom-engraved watches...

I can appreciate the artwork and craftsmanship
but a watch with engravings like this is a watch not for almost everyone imo. It's a very small niche product. - AT
I agree it is a niche but if the watch is a TRUE keeper which is never to be sold and eventually passed on to family...
I do not see why it would not apply. It is like the personally engraved pocket watches from generations past, no?
