I actually think it truly personalizes a watch and truly becomes an heirloom item to be passed on...
obviously this or any watch with custom engraving would not be meant for resale or trade which is why I think it does not appeal to most. If we look into the past at pocket watches we can find that some were personalized with family crests, intricate designs for royals and important families, etc...
I know in this modern time it does not seem feasible but if we take an unbiased assessment I just feel it really makes a watch truly UNIQUE to each owner as each piece could be a 1 of 1 through design or execution.
