I am new to PP world. I just saw a white gold golden ellipse and would like to purchase the same. Did a web search and saw prices which are thousands of $$ apart seemingly for the same exact watch (example, a HK seller with a price 10K less. I want to buy... 

with a blue dial and 240 automatic movement. The watch is a bit smallish to my 8 inches wrist and thus I bought also the bigger platinum version. Let the Moderators correct me if I'm wrong but we do not give any price guidelines nor purchase advice here. ...

If an opinion is asked, I tell what I think. I'm not a Guru whose opinion should be followed but I am trying to help a first timer. Golden Ellipse is an iconic Patek but for many of us it is a specialised watch looking better with suit than with swimming ...

that is not easily distinguished. It is not a matter of a "Suit watch" or "Swimming trunks" watch. It is a watch of some aesthetical value designed for a true Aristocrat , a person whom you can see at an important function wearing a silk neckerchief from ... 

I have had the Ellipse for quite a long time and for me it is mostly a black tie watch. Best Kari
