I had the same dilemma. Opted for the 5712R
I think the 5980R is "top heavy" on the wrist and the 5712R sits much much better on my 7 inch wrist. That said the 5980 is STUNNING, but I do go for comfort in the long run.

i have a relatively small wrist, so i think 5712r fits me better, its super thin too, however many friends suggested me to get a 5980r, its a better model to collect in terms of its complications..i'm really confused at this point, should i go for comfort...

if you want to go bold, do it all the way. But mainly because its chocolate dial is much nicer that the classic grey of the 5712R. It works much better with Rg. 5712A is the way to go IMO, if you want Rg, 5980 looks much better, and its a 5N rose gold, mu...

I got the G which is well under the radar. I like the assymetric dial layout, the thinness of the case and the 3/4 rotor. If you want a chronograph look at the Lange 1815 Chrono, Datograph or back to the 5170.
