I definitely didn't assume either way; if it was an offer at retail, or an offer with markup. But definitely, my advice would apply to both scenarios. I will say, I'm not crazy about perpetual calendars - they're a pain to set and if you forget to put it on the winder (or in my most recent case, I put it on the winder but forgot to turn on the winder) you're in a world of hurt when you have to start wearing the watch again since you'd have to reset the whole display. I've decided in my personal case, that while I like the 240 QP movement, and it's one of my favorite perpetual calendar movements, I'm just not a perpetual calendar guy. And considering you already have the 5711 in steel blue, I would say this 5740 is NOT a must have. My favorite Nautilus is the 5712. It's just a little more complex than the 5711. It's assymetrical. And the 5712 is kind of cool in its own right. I would say enjoy your 5711 steel blue and save your money for something TRULY fantastic. SOmething nobody else has. If you think about it, Nautiluses aren't that rare. Patek Philippe has made well over a thousand of them a year on average the past 20 years. There's literally tens of thousands of them out in the world. Maybe save your money for something TRULY fantastic and TRULY special. Something museum quality or close to museum quality. But that's just my thought process, and who can say if I'm right or wrong. In either case, you have a "good problem" to have. And either way, you probably can't make a majorly wrong decision.
