Thanks for that. If I can keep this extract as well as get a replacement, that would be the best of both worlds. Contacting them tomorrow.

Patek Service

So I collected my 3649G today from the Patek Service Centre after 3 months of eager anticipation. I had also requested for an Extract from the Archives. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is my birth year watch. I was also surprised to find ...

Ha ha ha

Yes, I did realise that too! ...

There's an article.

Best wishes Alkiro

This little mistake gives it a more unique side in my opinion. If you ask, Patek should make a new one without any problem I think.

My question is: if you want to resale this timepiece one day, could it be an obstacle for a potential buyer if he sees this mistake? (I don't think so but watch collectors are finicky). Best wishes Alkiro

If I were to place myself as a potential buyer, and I am finicky, I would of course prefer it flawless, including the spelling. I would be alright with it though if I knew it was a genuine Extract. What about yourself?

Where do the Extracts come from?

HQ or from the service center, which in this case is in Singapore?

Cool watch from the disco era. Funky , grovy watch.

Wrong Extract

 By: PPJames : September 11th, 2017-06:01
I just received my Extract from the Archive and it was TOTALLY wrong. Wrong watch altogether! I called HSWA and in less than a week I had the correct Extract. If I were you I would call to have it corrected. You'll be able to keep the old "incorrect" for ...

I can keep both?!?

Amazing piece.

I'd probably request an update to the extract, IF you get to also keep the fun one. Best, Brandon

Funny typo indeed

First, congrats for your watch back from service that you wish to wear. I wouldn't think something special about the mistake on the extract except maybe if one day you wish to sell it for a reason or another. A potential buyer, if he notices this typo, mi...

I agree

While I do appreciate the human moment, I certainly would also want a proper extract. Wrote the service center and they were very apologetic and said they were expediting a reissued archive from Geneva. Will see if the terms of collecting this new extract...

Well, I guess they want to control the refs and who is asking each time they issue one

We can easily imagine what could happen when not controling the process imho. However, I think you did well, thanks for the update Best, Mark
