Patek Philippe

Thanks to Julien Dubois aka @chefs_d_oeuvre_horlogers, we finally have real photos of the latest Minute Repeater from Patek Philippe : the reference 7047G-001 . The modern design features a 38 x 10.24 mm white gold case and a navy blue dial distinguished ...

I can do without the orange though. Would prefer something a little more muted in color. Not sure what color to replace the orange with right now though😁

...as my 'beef' with Patek is that they seem to not care about slim watches these days. My friend has the regular Calatrava version and it is a joy to wear. But at this price (more than half a million), the dial should not be stamped (if this one is)...

And there isn't any mention of guillochage, afaik.

...I just think at $500,000+ they might have used real guilloche...

Aesthetically, it reminds me of some of the AMVOX collection pieces....

polarizing comments which can be understood and appreciated. I see both sides of the coin. For me, this design is consistent with Patek's strategy of drawing in younger collectors and this piece has accomplished the objective because it is unlike any othe...

Not a big fan of this dial design. I'm not criticizing the design. But this design and the Patek 6007 have never been great designs in my eyes... I've always said regarding the 6007, "if they took the Patek Philippe logo off the dial of the 6007, would pe... 

What I personally don't respond to at all is the carbon fibre motif. But I know others like it and like the automotive inspiration. It just doesn't resonate with me. Best, Emmanuel

But all these car companies have turned it into automotive jewelry - and the jewelry and watch companies have capitalized upon it. Not a great concept in my eyes. Ferrari puts carbon fiber interior trim all over the inside of the car and charges a fortune...

It does give off a sporty vibe while featuring a truly impressive and classical movement. I think the combination works well. That said, for a tenth of the price, I like this more subtle version with a far simpler movement . . . ...

But as often with modern PP execution is really lacking. They had to introduce a lot of refinements for it to make sense. Obviously not a stamped dial, a real embarrassment at this price point. Hands are basic and also simply stamped, more suited to a $50...

Best 6007 design, too at the same time. Never liked the 6007 A, the 6007 G a lot, but this one is the perfect design. This repeater demonstrates great life style, celebrates lightness and beauty of life. A dream piece on par with a 5078 R.

I personally feel more attracted to the 5078, but I understand the appeal of this new 7047G. And because of the absence of a date window, it is indeed a wonderful variant of the 6007 design. Best, Emmanuel

I find the lugs to be too wide, making the watch look squarish But I do think it’s a good idea to make sportier min repeaters, but it needs to be somewhat water resistant

Eg langes RL min rep with 20m.. not much but sure beats humidity and dust protected only.. Not sure abt the sound quality of the RL though..

but I doubt that it is compatible with a great sound quality...
