It is not one that appeals to my taste. Having said that, it is a very unusual watch. The complication is not one that i see as particularly useful, but then that is not a reason to dislike a watch. Its style has a certain flamboyance that does not appeal...

No... It is just not my cup of tea....... And I have always had one simple rule for my collection....Only buy what pleases my eye and what makes my heart miss a beat...... Novelty watch???? NO NO NO... It is an incredible masterpiece of watchmaking skills...

I think the 5102 is an absolutely beautiful piece. At 43mm is may be the largest watch in Patek's current line, but it is quite thin. It is beautifully engraved around the outside of the case, and has a stunning dial. Other than a date or a chrono complic...

Definitely ultra expensive novelty. Utterly useless complications. But what a great watch! I would love to own one!

if you see the back 240 movement then you will think how come a 5102 sell at almost 10 times the price of a 5712?

Notice the accuracy on the star display; theoretically it can run for many decades without a single day's deviation. The accuracy of the moonphase and the rotation is also technologically significant. A great piece that I would be proud to own.
