Patek Philippe

... an ultra expensive and technically amazing watch

I think the 5102 is an absolutely beautiful piece.  At 43mm is may be the largest watch in Patek's current line, but it is quite thin.  It is beautifully engraved around the outside of the case, and has a stunning dial.  Other than a date or a chrono complication, there aren't many functions in complicated watches that are practical for every day use.  We value the technical difficulty and esoteric nature of these complications as much as we value their practicality.  And the ability to show the constellation above any location in the northern hemisphere is truly spectacular.

My only regrets with this piece are:  1) I dislike the 240 automatic micro-rotor winding mechanism -- it's just not an efficient mechanism; and 2) that I haven't broken this piece out of the box yet!
