Firstly: nice to hear that you are prepared to pay such money for a mechanical watch, for a Patek Phillipe.
Secondly: a Patek is not a poor men's watch! Regardless the level of mechanics, new or bought from preowned.
We see and discuss quite costly watches here and forget that people outside this forum, regardless poor or rich, would be shocked if they
learn about the price that Patek is asking for a simple 5119, for instance.
Thirdly: do not forget that a used PP needs servicing immediately.
And the service has to be done all three years, even if you keep it in a safe most of the time.
One more specific aspect in your choices: the more complicated a watch, the morelikely it to stop, more parts that could need changing.
I do not know what the service cost of a WT is but a suppose it will be more than level 3, that would mean to have $1.690 maintanance costs
every three years ... for a mechanical complication (the pusher) that is not the smoothest in the world ... not often used.
If, I mean for me it is like that, money is a consideration: get yourself a time only Patek ... and new.
I can see all the beauty of all Pateks in a simple Ellipse, Calatrava, Gondolo, Nautilus ...
Hope it does not put you off as I certainly admire all who share the same enthusiasm.
Regards
Moritz
