A limited edition 5270G
By: Ken Lo : October 10th, 2013-06:56
Just curious if anyone knows anything about a 50 piece only limited edition of 5270G? The complete reference number is 5270G-015, and it is supposed to come with a different dial. What is the cause of this celebrated creation? And how do you like it compa...
Trust me this is real!

This special edition piece is offered to me by my authorized dealer in Germany. I was told that this is part of a Patek exhibition held in Munich and apart from many Patek clocks and pocket watches there are a few limited edition watches, and this 5270G-0...
you just saw a photo?

If i may, its quite risky to swap your 5270G for this one, just based on this pics. The texture of the dial seems different. The final decision will be based on how much am i ready to put on top of my 5270G. Even though it looks nice, if there is too much...
INTRIGUING.

Well now you have my full attention, I want to see live pics haha. My AD in Seattle is getting in a 5270G in two weeks, I haven't seen it in the metal and am still wearing my 5970G and 3970P. I'm curious if this is available in Germany if it is possible t...
Final Review

Bulliondesk and I looked at it next to his 5270G last night. They would have to change the location of the chromos in the movement to get the tach's to fit. They just cant change the dial. Movement alignment doesn't match.
Not sure about that...

It seems possible to me. I took one picture from here and another from the Patek site and tried to overlay them in Photoshop. As I am not really a Photoshop-expert, the result is not so great, but it seems to me that the positions of the hands, date etc m...
WTF!!

Why would they "whore" out a Perpetual Chronograph? Okay.. I can understand a 5130..Munich dial.. great.. no sweat. But.. a PERPETUAL CHRONOGRAPH?!?!?! They never made nor would dare to make a LE for the 1518, 2499, 3970 or 5970.. what the hell gives now ...
Relax :))

maybe its just me, but i dont see the big deal about it. About the 1518, 2499, and 3970... Each one had different series, where pushers were round or square, different crowns, different hands. All this is not new at all. Consider it as a 2nd series :) If ...
Oh boy

Every Patek collector should now worry that Patek is no longer protecting the collector. This has been speculated for a couple years. This is a result on over pricing and over producing the 5270G. I own one. It blows my 5970 away. However, I know for a fa...
Oh Boy! :))

You make it sound like Patek will boxe in the hublot category. Just to clarify, AP live on the RO model, is all kind of variations, with all the LE's... but its one model :) Same for hublot, that is trying to diversify more. Patek makes only limited editi...

... i find this one less attractive. The dial feels "dry" a bit like the 5204P and 5170G. While our 5270G has a brushed texture that plays fantastically with light. AND the oxydized hands and markers, that are really fantastic and contrast very well. Real...
I like the tach too
By: Myopiccoog : October 15th, 2013-08:40
but like it was stated above it will not be accurate given the dip. They should have faded it out like the 5970. Here is a pic of mine I have been approved for a 5204p and can get it before the end of the year, but now I am now questioning taking it given...
So true!

i totally agree with you. What stroke me the 1st day ( 1st night ) i wore my 5270G, was that in very low light conditions, i could read it perfectly! 2 reasons for that : The texture of the dial "sucked" the little light available.... and the markers and ...
Agree..
By: bulliondesk : October 15th, 2013-09:59
myopiccoog and I sat next to each other when trying it on.. here it is on me. Has anyone actually received a 1st production oxidized version of the 5204? I know a few who have one but with the silver dials and markers. I MUCH prefer the oxidized like the ...

... pure speculation based on my info. 1st batch was a around 4-5 pcs that were delivered to the Patek Salon. Now i don't know if all the salons Patek got the 1st version. Maybe Paris and London didn't or just London... we need serious insiders on this on...

... revamping the dial and throwing it as LE's is a smart way. I see the positive side, its good that geneva didn't overflowed their dealers with pieces that will sit in the window of their shops. My dealer told me that he has a few customers that want a ...
Great news then!

If they are taking 50 unsold 5270Gs out of the market and changing the dial to make a LE, then that will make the standard 5270G rarer in the future. This is surely good news for collectors, no? I am not saying I agree with Patek's strategy, but I am tryi...
