Finally arrived!

So excited to finally share a picture of my 3940J on my wrist. The watch is an absolute beauty and the dial is so much more beautiful in person! I had a fantastic buying experience with John Reardon at Collectability in addition to receiving great advice from members here. I'm also in the process of ordering a new strap but will enjoy this more period correct look until then.

I also wanted to comment on the sizing of the watch. I sold my Vacheron Traditionelle Small Seconds as I could never get used to the empty appearance of a dial on a 38mm watch. I did, however, love the case design of that watch. I'm so much happier with the 36mm sizing. It's so appropriate for a dress watch and even with the subdials it never feels crowded. I find this watch easy to read even at a glance and beautifully balanced.

The angled center sundials adds great legibility. Excellent font and sizing too! Follows the 'rule' of minute hand 'touching' the minute droplets, with hour hand sized appropriately as well.
