No I buy watches for my own amusement and joy and REALLY could care less than what others
think about my watch or 'their watch' (regardless of what what they wear).
....and I never understood why other people get bothered by this unless they really
bough the watch for some sort of status or to impress others (or if they are completely insecure).

This happens to me too
but I don't get angry at all. Instead, I'd praise how lucky they are to own their "beautiful" Rolexes. I just don't want to hurt their feelings.

All most none of my watches ever get noticed
except for my Urwerk. That gets noticed by everyone and they all want to know if its the latest kenneth cole, for fossil. I normally just say yes.

I have gotten two compliments EVER on a watch. One--a busboy liked my TAG, about ten years ago. And two... I actually can't remember, but I know it happened. No one ever notices watches, ever... and if they do, I think it is outside of their ideas of 'rea...

Agree with you - I almost got robbed when I wore my gold Rolex - got tailed by 3 youngsters. Had to enlist the help of a friend with the physique of Hulk Hogan to escort me back to my car. Nobody looked at me when I wore my PP 3940.
