Didn't have a clue.
I was 29 years old and thought that my Timex runner's watch was the hottest thing going. If someone would have explained the Patek brand to me I would have laughed about how dumb rich people can be - wasting all that good money on watches!
Now, here I sit.......a helpless victim plotting my next aquisition.

dun have any pateks nor are aware of them then...still happy with casio. only mechanical time piece was a tissot fm the 70s bought fm chinatown. but remember the day the wall came down very well...reagan, thatcher, kohl...all fm that era. first love of PP...

and the Pateks I remember most were the 150th Anniversary Officer's Campaign and jump hour watch introduced in 1989 but still going on in 1990.
