Dear Oliver. You have created a master article on
a wonderful watch. There are a few remarks in the thread referring to the pushers that I must shed some personal light upon.
The pushers on the 5170 may be a smooth as butter but the pushers and particularly the return pusher on the Vacheron&Constantin
Patrimony Traditinonelle Chronograph (Ref. 44192) would then be considered "clarified" butter. There is no watch in my direct experience that measures up to this V&C.
The white gold model is mine and yes, I am prejudiced to its looks, but the operation of the chronograph is a true mechanical marvel and "thrilling" as one of the guests at a recent event in Carmel remarked.
I have given you a photograph for the archive, with the return pusher looking at you, waiting for you to push it and feel the thrill.
Great watches all around,
Best and thanks again for a super article,
Tim
