They are both impressive pieces, but they also look like basic time only watches. So i’m curious to understand your points.

I did a quick look online but couldn’t find hardly any 3796p for sale. Both are excellent pieces!

I saw one 3796P put up for sales by Subdial (a company from the UK) for £15K abt 3 weeks ago. But it is sold after 1 day they posted online. You can have a look of the watch from its YouTube channel (episode #216).

in the last few months. I can’t decide on which model given the similar price point, size and style, and their availability in my city (HKG). I tried a 3796R a couple of days ago. It looks small on the display shelf, but it wears like a 34mm on my wrist. ... 

I like that east-west dial finish on the 3923. Patek usually goes north-south. In this case I think I have a marginal preference for the 3923. Luckily you don’t have to choose!

I especially appreciate the seconds subdials.

I much prefer the stronger lines on the 3796. Even though the 3796 may be a tad smaller than the 3923, it does seem to wear larger.
