Even today, more than 20 years later, it happens to me from time to time. My solution today is to support only the good ones and to avoid all others.
I can´t solve all the "retail" problems, but I can decide where to spend my money

and I did it to celebrate a big tanker deal. After that I have made many more these deals than what I have bought Pateks. However, I still have more than a handful and at the moment there are none I would need to get. Best, Kari

was at 19, but I failed because of the ignorance/arrogance of some sales people at an AD ... Still today lots of people have paradigm´s ... so don´t worry and choose carefully were you spent your money :-) Cheers, Oliver

seriously I think that the world time is or should be the signature model for Patek. I know its not advertised as much as the nautilus or the 5960, but it should be the icon for patek.

I think I was about 50.
Hadn't really heard of PP at that time. Was looking at a few B&Ms and happened to see the Pateks. The 5111 was my first. It so reminded me of my dad. Bought it a few months later. From then on, I've been diseased. :-) Aloha, Bob

It was a 5711 1/A which I upgraded it to a 5980. Then I bought a 5109 R, a 1578J and a 5070G, all these by 38 which is my age now. My first and only Lange was at 33, a beautiful Grosse Langematik in rose gold. Sadly, nothing planned for 2014. R

I was 37, first PP was the 5711 Nautilus.
I never thought I would be able to afford this watch, but a trade with a PAM127 made this dream come true. I don't own the 5711 any longer. But still have a decent collection of PPs none the less. Heavy on the Nautili.
