but i still would like some feedback on as to whether when you gentlemen consider your watches; is it based on a useful complication or the feat itself? let us take for example 5070p, everyone has spoken of its beauty and not its useful complications. the 3939 is beautiful (at least to me) but from the comments below it appears to be a watch few would touch as both complications are useless in everyday life. do we buy watches for everyday life use or the kicks of possession? lest you forget many collectors(?) do not use their watches - i call that hoarding. too fickle a market for lasting investment purposes in my opinion.

I guess my basic point is that a Rattapante is not inherently complex, in the way a repeater might be thought of. This isn't to take away from the skill that it takes to make a truly fine one, in the way a chinese Tourbillon does not detract from a Patek ...
