I don't think it's had anything added. Here you can see a Swiss hallmark (squarish mark) on the lug near where a hole would be if it were like the typical 1438. I don't see evidence of solder or other marks to indicate an aftermarket fabrication. No evidence of former (filled) springbar holes inside or out. The angle of the 'first' hood bottom is different from that of the typical 1438. I'm no expert though...
