The common Pateks that you see in every AD's front case
are not selling well, and there is plenty of room to
talk down the price. Some ADs will sell for less than
they paid just to move inventory and hopefully get the
better pieces to sell. As for the better pieces, the ones
that are rarer and almost never seen in the front display
cases (think Nouvelle Lemania) they are selling much
better. The economy is bad though, and you can get even
these great pieces for much less than you could before.
These times provide rare opportunities to add hitherto
difficult to find watches to your collection.

I think Patek has produced more, & better Grand Complic and Complic 1989-2009 vs 1839-1989

To me In studying Patek Philippes Wristwatch, and even Pocketwatch production from 1839-1989 and then 1989-2009 I have to say that I think that the complicated and grand complicated wristwatches and Pocket Watches (Save Graves Watch) are far superior and ...

... i have to agree, Patek has indeed moved much faster than before, afterall, they are running a business, also i think the demand for luxury items has sky rocketed. Back in the old days, with less demand, there is no need for patek to move in break neck... 

Patek can go slow but prices were really coo coo in 2006-2008

Without talking dollar amounts I think people overpaid for wristwatches from 2006-2008. The same way that some people got burned in Real Estate in Manhattan and elsewhere in the country when there was a price correction. It was amazing the huge selling pr...
