In fact looks very nice on your wrist. Beautiful one, where the size and movement are paired well. A classic for sure.

Proportions are perfect and while it does appear a bit small it’s representative of a more elegant and refined era.

I acquired this watch as a gift for my sister. Going forward I may have to find another one for myself. Strong alpha hands. ...

Then 31mm feels quite alright. Helps that the case is made of gold too. I had tried on a stainless ref 96 with a sector dial. That 'feels' smaller.

For the watch. Do you have an extract - do you know when this watch has been sold?

The auction house from which I purchased the watch, Dr. Crott of Mannheim Germany, says it's made in 1952. Aesthetically, a lot of the older (30s on) reference 96s have a closed sub seconds dial, whereas the latest reference 96s have printed minute marker...

I have a 3796G and 3923J. Both the same size. They are a joy to wear and very legible and functional.
