5980 or AP Royal Oak Chronograph
Are these comparable chronographs. I realize one has an inhouse movement while the other has an F.Piguet 1185 derivative, but I would like to take the perspective that the origin of the movement does not count toward the comparison. All other factors apply. What are your thoughts on these 2 pieces?

Hi, In fact the 5960 and 5980 are not the only chronographs with vertical clutch. There are Frederic Piguet chronograph calibres with vertical clutch too. It has been the case for long, well before PP issued its auto chrono calibre. I don't know if all FP...
