Patek Nautilus 5740G
Long time lurker, but through a wonderful community, I was able to start a relationship with Patek through our local AD and this was the second piece that was allocated to me and it is absolutely sublime.
I have one question for this thread of veterans, during the festivities of the day after I got it, a very small indentation found itself on the polished part near 12 o’ clock of the case. It’s small, I intend to wear this thing a lot and have it tell its own story through time, but man every time the light catches that dent it bothers me 😭 is there any recourse or will the wear over time wash it out, because I feel like because its a dent, particular light catches it very easily and I notice but also maybe I am being a freak about it.

Thanks my friend!! I also think these photos accentuate the dent more than it actually is, its hardly noticeable in some light I just perseverate on the times it is 😭 but I agree, should let it hold the wear of my time ...

Yeah... It would bother me... But I would try my best to ignore it. You'll get more scratches along the way. I wore a Nautilus as my daily watch for ten plus years and I've been pretty lucky and very careful that I haven't gotten too much damage. But life...

Laser welding is possible in theory and practice if offered by PP. It might depend on how deep the dent is. Certainly worth an inquiry.
Welcome here! Don't worry, it won't be the last dent or scratch or hairline... It is a real scratch magnet. So, wear it, enjoy it and wait for the other scratches to come! Then, you will ask for a bezel change...

I would imagine pp has similar capabilities, but I don't know. Contact your AD to inquire. Nice watch 👍
I would get it fixed if it would bother me that much
with a brand-new piece it is always hard to accept a big hit in the first weeks... I know that the Wempe service here has been allowed/trained by PP to do laser welding

there when you took it from AD, then you should inform your AD. Sounds like you might not have noticed it when you bought it. In such case, IMO you should accept a small imperfection because you will get more by wearing it. Mine says hi 👋 to your heavy we...

It was pristine when I got it, we just had a birthday at Centurion NYC where the mark occured but the way I look at it, it’s the mark of a great memory which is kinda the point of all this right? At least thats what I keep telling myself 😂

Forget that dent / scratch! This watch is beautiful and should simply be worn. Signs of use are part of it. When I discovered this scratch on the bezel shortly after purchasing my Aquanaut, my heart almost stopped… Now I don't even see that scratch anymor...

Understand your pain. I had the same feeling when I made a scratch also on the polished bezel of my 5740 ....... after a gentle brush by the cuff button of my shirt (!)
White gold is indeed soft and a scratch/ dent magnet. My suggestion is to ignore it, just try to be more careful next time. The shiny bezel will soon be covered with countless hairline scratches even wearing it very carefully, they will make the tiny dent...
