5140 EMTO winding box question.

Hi,

I have a EMTO wooden winding box that came with my 5140 and last weekend when I went to remove the watch from the winder, I discovered that the U shaped arm that secures the cuff to the winder had become loose from the spindle and was no longer rotating correctly.

I was unable to determine how the U shaped arm is attached to the spindle (by either a screw or a nut?), because the box is sealed and there is not enough room between the U shaped arm and the hole into the box to see how it is attached.

Anyhow, I was curiuos if anyone else that has one of these boxes had experienced the same situation with their box? If so, were you able to determine what had happened or how it is attached?

I have several version of these winding boxes. It is more useful to put a picture or pictures showing the exact problem. The solution may be easier than you may think. Cheers. Jim

Try snapping it in at different angles.

The unit looks new and the U piece could very well snap into the hole. Try doing this at different rotations as it may snap in only at a specific angle. Worst come to worst you can send it to Patek for a repair and/or exchange. I have done this before, an...

Thanks for your suggestion; I decided to return it for a new replacement, but if it happens again I will probably try your suggestion first.
