5130r After purchase thoughts
Ive been considering this watch for awhile VS a Journe. I've always been a fan of the world times, and after hearing of some quality issues with the Journes, I decided on the 5130R. There were some tradeoffs VS the 5110R as well which I thought I'd share.
A few observations:
Pros:
1. Size ( VS the 5110 )
2. Legibility, related to point one, but the face is very easy to read.
3. Useful, I travel a lot internationally, and it helps keep my bearings straight.
4. Hands, VS the 5110, these hands are really outstanding.
5. Value, The economy has taken its toll, and I was able to pick one up for a really attractive price.
Cons:
1. I really like the deployment on the 5110R, The deployment on the 5130R is understated, but nothing exciting.
2. Strap is too dark in my opinion. The croc is of high quality, but in some light, appears to be black. I'll probably get a replacement strap
3. Guillouche pattern on the 5110r is also preferable to the
4. Would also prefer a Gold/Brown tinted face, rather than a straight silver.
5. I live in Shanghai, which means no daylight savings. I have to adjust for it by setting outer dial to Bangkok ( When it should be HK )
