3970 day window misaligned; Any idea how big a fix this is?

Jan 20, 2023,10:39 AM

Waiting to be seen for my patek service appointment. I’ve circled the calendar function around several years and the day window actually gets more misaligned (sometimes completely hidden) on particular months. Maybe it was just installed incorrectly at my last service?

Take it through several 24 hour periods, moving time forward, slowing at 10pm as the change over happens. It will likely still be an issue so with the time at 7am, activate the day corrector several times and see if it fixes itself. I know of a few instan...

Rarely seen. Happy new lunar year. This new lunar year brings you to the solution of aligning the day properly. If i was in your position, i would bring the watch to a Patek Philippe service center for a nice overhaul. 🐰

Send it to H Stern New York. Always done well by me.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture?

I listen to OutKast yesterday and read their biography at Spotify. So i read the shake the polaroid lyric. So give a shake to the Patek.😎

Since you already tried and it became worse, a service is probably needed.

No fun, not nice. Get your watch to an authorized Patek Philippe Service Center. That was the only way my watch got fixed. It may take several months, but they will solve the problem and the stand behind the work they did. When this happened to my 3970. S...

i assume that you have read the operations manual that came with the watch when you bought it. set hour and minute hands to 03.00 -reset everything in correct sequence as per the manual. my vc 5000t has to be set in THE MORNING-ONLY-AM-and not in the afte...

Thanks all. It was just serviced by Patek 2 months ago!

Can’t believe it’s having this problem. I’m bringing it back to them Monday but just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this

If it was serviced recently by PP then absolutely no hesitation…

Don’t even try to manipulate anything and bring it back to PP Salon or your AD to have this problem fixed under guarantee. If I remember well there is a one year guarantee by PP after a service. Congrats on this superb 3970, 2nd series if I don’t mistake ...

I'm sure you are aware, but just curious, are you activating the correctors during the right time? It would normally be 7am. I've seen these break if you correct the calendar at 7pm for example.

Sorry for the issue

Hopefully you have it sorted out by now, but

the news to me have this issue has never been good from Patek. It is usually not just some easy fix misalignment but the underlying gears to which it is all connected are usually involved. Without a total rebuild it can be corrected somewhat but not total...

It had been serviced by them only several months before

So I think it was an underlying issue I set it at the time per the instruction manual
