3712 vs 5712

 

The main difference is the case construction. The 3712 has the original two-piece case while the 5712 (and all current Nautilus) is three-piece. In addition, the "ear" shape is different, the older one has straight ones while the current one has curved ones. Also, there are much fewer 3712 on the market than 5712. If I remember correctly, 3712 was produced only one year.


For me, very personally, 5712 looks more pleasing due to revised dial prints while 3712 has more traditional roots (esp. the above two characters regarding case).

Both are great watches. and my slight preference goes to 3712.
