Its been one of the few shortcomings of the Foulkes-Book to not go into detail about this small book. A huge thanks for your time to present this to us in so much detail.

A fine piece of history.

I am sure the 200 anniversary edition will be quite different; I like how even the top tier brands had down to earth communication at the time which was closer to technical documentation for instruments than glitzy marketing for luxury artefacts.

Thanks for sharing a truly valuable historical document, HA, and many thanks also to member Unekual for the good English translation! Hard to ask for more than a terrific read on a topic I love! ;-)

What is the BRATINA offered by Czar Nicholas II? Is it a gift to Patek Philippe? And what is it? Is it a tea set?

Must be similar to this I guess

Thank you for taking the time to share the photographs and the translation: a labour of love and service to the community.

A few immediate thoughts while reading it: 1. Patek's background in the Polish nobility played a part in positioning its products among the upper echelons of society in western an eastern Europe, the Levant, across north and south America, and beyond. It ...

Very astute observations. I particularly enjoyed your analysis in part 3. It was well received to be reminded that Patek had to build its reputation in a fiercely competitive environment for the battle of observatory awards. The way Patek dominated chrono...
