Hmmm. Interesting

37 is def doable. And I actually think the current rose gold suits the watch for more formal occasions. Would surely have to think over it. But yes to me this is one of the front runners.

Need help... wanting your thoughts on what to add to an existing collection passed on by my father.

Hi Guys. Wanted your thoughts on a possible addition to an existing collection that was passed from my father, whose since passed on. Like everyone here loved his PP, mostly nautilus and chrono and PC, PCC and the ocassional AC. ...

Most impressive!

I need to persuade my father to start collecting watches!!! Ooops, and welcome here by the way!!!

If I were you

I would definitely go for the 5950R if they are still available. The ultra thin movement of the split second chronograph is Patek at its best! I would ignore the 40th anniversary models as they are way overpriced in the used market and offer poor value fo...

Thank you.

Yes. 5950 would be good but I think my wrist isn’t that big. Not sure as I’ve not seen or tried one on.

The 5950 is a 37mm watch

 By: sham1 : November 11th, 2018-03:28
It officially measures 44 x 37 but the 44mm includes the lugs. I have a 5940G which is the same size and I have a small wrist too.

Hmmm. Interesting

With what you have, perhaps you should go for a minute repeater.

For the ultimate Patek. That can more or less close your collection. It is truly a blessing to inherit your Dad's collection. My condolences. Geross.

Fantastic collection!

Your father built up a fantastic collection. My condolences on his passing. Personally I like to avoid going into the secondary market. As Sham mentioned, a 5950R or one of the minute repeaters would be something rather special. Alternatively you can look...

Great collection

Quite a nice mix of Aquanaut/Nautilus and AC, PCC, chrono, split second. If you are looking to add to the collection, I would look to add a simple Calatrava or a Minute Repeater on the other end of the spectrum. A Calatrava would be a simple, yet elegant ...

The collection has enough

current production models. I would recommend expanding into the 90s/00s or even vintage 50s/60s to optimize it.

If it is a collection passed on by your dad...

Never sell any of them...he have built a wonderful collection. Regrets comes quite later after short term pleasures of selling...I would treat it as his legacy & keep it intact ! Then if you really like watches...start one of your own & have your collecti...

Thanks

Yes. I totally agree. I suppose naturally the collection will evolve to my taste as I “carry the torch” for this generation so to speak.

Treasure this collection and buy some more watches that you like the most .

This collection has more value the way it is now imho. Wear them with pride

Firstly....welcome here

Also, can I say what a tasteful and well-curated collection that is. It is absolutely superb. If i inherited that collection, then I think the logical step would be to consider one of the enamel world time watches. 5131R/G/Y are no longer produced but any...

5131/1P would be nice addition...

 By: keks : November 11th, 2018-00:59
But there is no urgent need to add anything here in my opinion...

Thank you

 By: RW2 : November 11th, 2018-04:24
Yes. I am asking for future reference and not necessarily for purchase tomorrow. As any PP watch purchases isn’t insignificant and should be saved for a marked occasion. Dad started buying in the late 90’s, started with the jumbo Acquanat and the rest is ...

Welcome to this forum, and congrats on this beautiful Patek collection your father has built!

It's very well rounded and diverse, with a preference for nice platinum or sports models. I'd either consolidate in one of these directions for a while, or have fun starting a new trend that you like. As others have suggested, perhaps some limited or more...

Absolutely astonishing

In addition to my condolences I must say what a nice taste he had! Wear them in good health and may you pass them to the next generation in a very very long time. You should maybe add the pcc with the salmon dial.

First and foremost my condolences on the passing of your Dad. As far as your questions, I would recommend for the time being not buying anything.

Your Dad left you an incredible collection of great variety and extraordinary quality. I suggest before buying anything that you wear each of the watches. Aside from honoring your Dad’s memory, I think you will derive great joy from wearing his amazing wa...

Thank you ......

A very smart answer might I add. Appreciate the sincerity. I haven’t used all the pieces, and would want an occasion to open the 5370. So maybe only after all that then I can have a better mind in thinking what to do next. Thank you.

Great reply by Patekova.

My condolences to you on your fathers passing. What an incredible collection he has left for you. He had great taste.

i were you i would add absolutely nothing, the first few years. You have to wear and appreciate these magnificent timepieces and enjoy what your father left you. Maybe after a couple of years you could purchase another watch but i recommend would never ad...

Amazing collection your dad had great taste

First off , my condolence on his passing Obviously he’s a man of great taste This is quite the collection he passed on to you and got me personally I wouldn’t add anything to it

Most impressive.

Lots of beauties there!

why do you feel the need to add...

 By: Fricks : November 12th, 2018-09:17
... i would wear them especially for sentimental reasons. Then there is this 5370P that is calling to be unsealed and worn. So adding doesn't make sense. But if you really can't resist, i would add a 5204P black dial.

Yeah ...

That collection looks pretty complete. I would wear those. That is the best way I can think to pay tribute to someone you hold dear in your heart. Throw on a watch and go for a walk. Loose your self and look down to see what time it is. Think of him and t...
