Patek Philippe

"multipurpose" chronos are historical and very rare ...

... found one on the internet and , sounds a bit smug now, I forgot about this model that I came only across a few times only in "my studies":

Omega Museum Collection piece from 2003 with a reference to the 1945 original watch.

And also at Omega limited model as ... special.

Compare these to the 5975.

I mean the 1945 model gets a way with any criticism of course as it is vintage smile.

Patek did a very, very smart move to use their in-house auto in such way as this movement was designed to run "perpetually".

They have certainly won me over and I am not a chrono man at all.

Aesthetically it is a true Patek, just a bit smaller, maybe in 37 - 38 mm would have been great.

AND: in anyway Patek has managed to bring the topic of a  "multi-purpose chronograph" back to attention and discussion as you can see here.

Many thanks for the reminder of the gorgeous Minerva.

Best
