Parmigiani Tonda PF Annual Calendar Steel Platinum Quick Review 👏
Dear All,
I was keeping an eye on available sport watches for the summer. I always liked the Parmigiani Tonda and even tried the GT last year when they also introduced the Tonda PF line.
The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor seems to be sold out everywhere but I noticed that my trust AD received 1 piece of the Tonda PF annual calendar pfc907-1020001-100182 so I had to see it.
After trying it.. WOW 🔥👏 I was in love and is now on my wrist 😁
Online I could hardly find any "in the metal" wristshots (also not on instagram) of the Tonda PF Annual Calendar (but several of the Microrotor time version only) so I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some photos and first impressions.
In contrast with the Tonda PF micro-rotor that has a very simple (and to some, too plain) dial the Annual Calendar has a a very balanced dial with all the essential information and the retrograde date display.
The moon is also very special as it shows both emispheres. I believe that the dial color is the same of the PF micro-rotor. The size at 42mm is perfect since there are more information to be displayed.
One of the strong highlights of the PF line is the redesigned bracelet. Steel bracelets are currently extremely important in a sport watch. In the past, e.g. in the Tonda GT models the Parmigiani bracelet felt more chunky and less refined. Here we have a very comfortable and well adjustable bracelet, au par with other more famous sport models like Nautilus and Royal Oak.

The dial color and guilloche is not easy to capture but I tried to show it now under different light. At 11.1 mm the case is very well designed without being chunky. The micro rotor is thinner (7.8mm) but the size doesn't seem to be excessive.
I just got the watch so obviously I have to say that I love ❤️ it Honeymoon period of course 😅 but I can tell why I like this watch a lot: as an owner of more "famous" sport watches I realise that it now are not as dicreeet as they used to be. The Tonda PF is very discreet and only known my conoisseurs. The annual calendar complication is very useful and well conceived by Parmigiani (this is one of their historic complications) making the watch a bit more special than the time only version. This complication also makes it very distinct in my collection so it should be a lot of wrist time. The dial execution is superb and the bracelet is very comfortable. I am not surprised that pretty much all the Tonda PF line is sold out.

that watches which are (relatively) expensive are sold out so quickly. Before the PF line the interest in Parmigiani was very niche but they really did well with the new models. Laureatos were also available here in Switzerland last year..now not anymore....

in the sport watches segment, obviously the VC perpetual is an alternative but a much higher price point. AP well..you can't buy their watches anymore so 😄

I would've gone for the annual over the time only but it was over my budget. Had a centum perpetual that I should've kept, man this post making me wish I ponied up the difference. Annual calendar you can go swimming with is oddly appealing to me.

price difference with time only is considerable, I suspect the produce less annual calendars as the demand is very strong on the time only. I think is worth the difference as you get almost a perpetual calendar with 100Mt waster resistance. The finish and...
