I’ll gladly take any suggestions of straps (FP Journe and from other suppliers). I’ve heard that the Boudreaux and olive green work well.

This may be just hearsay, but I read once that the CS was first made in 40, but then was resized to 38. Maybe why it's not as harmonious!
Correct it is designed for 40 mm
Later it was made with a 38 mm case. Dial and movement are exactly the same size. Just a narrower case.
Supposedly the 38 is more “collectible” — probably because it is NLA. I wear all my watches, so 40 is the one.

Thanks! I was looking at both, and checked this one out in person first (mint; worn once or twice) but the one I shared the inquiry about in this forum
was a better proposition ‘on paper’ (supposedly under warranty, and slightly cheaper). So I passed up on this one (even though it was mint and worn only once or twice). One I saw the other one in person and noticed all the missing pieces and solicited advice from all the awesome folks here…it was a no brainer. Fortunately, this one was still around

The solid gold dial with embossed (not applied) mirror-polished white gold numerals and mirror polished stainless steel hands are begging to be viewed/photographed with a side-light. And yes, in this case, waiting for the perfect opportunity ended up being the wise decision.

The first pictures in the warm lighting looks like the RG version but it sounds like it is the Pt version? Also, my view of the pictures that this one is applied numerals? As the numerals look tall with defined edges; but of course you have the best view of your watch! Congratulations again! I too, hope to get a similar version.

Yes, indeed, this is the platinum version with white gold dial and white gold embossed (not applied) numerals and stainless steel hands. I learned the latter two facts during my deep dive into watch journalistic coverage of this watch last evening (hodinkee mainly). These dials were apparently introduced in 2014, and are much rarer. Obviously, no way to confirm the latter claim

This is my favourite CS, followed closely by the polar opposite rose gold MOP CS.
Your watch however is most versatile, a great quality to have. A few straps of different colours and textures will really give you something for every day and any ocaision.
