It has only taken me six years to decide on this!!
When the rose gold Credor Eichi ll was launched in 2018, I rushed to my AD to try it on but unfortunately the watch did not ignite the necessary passion from within me. The porcelain dial, hand painted numerals, the ultra smooth glide of the seconds hand and the magnificently finished movement would have been enough to sway the most astute of enthusiasts but I remained stubbornly unswayed!

Fast forward to 2024 and while visiting my AD last week, I noticed a platinum Eichi ll staring at me seductively so I thought I would rekindle my Eichi experience. I tried it on and it felt and looked so much better than my previous attempts. My AD could see that my eyes were gleaming away and then decided to prey on my vulnerability! (a skill which he has perfected!) He asked me if I would like to try on the rose gold version that had just arrived and I thought 'why not'. Famous last words!! 
I was totally blown away when the watch was placed on my wrist. I asked myself 'had I become more mature in my watch collecting journey' or was my newly tanned skin (the result of spending most of my time on the island of Langkawi) a much better colour for the rose gold Credor..

Now I don't know about you guys but I wasn't too impressed by the new releases this year apart from perhaps the Rolex 1908 in platinum and the Chopard jump hour. I have to thank all the watch brands for this general dismal showing because it has allowed me to finally purchase an Eichi ll.
It has only be a day but I can tell, this watch is a keeper. It just seems to be so much watch for not too hefty a cost relatively to some of today's offerings. Put a famous Swiss brand name on a watch of this calibre and I believe the RRP would triple! The Eichi ll has always been one of the best three handed watches money can buy and I am humbled to finally be the proud owner of one.

Nice journey, whether it's maturation, or just how tastes evolve, it doesn't get much better. Similar to you, the 1908 caught my attention..I just would prefer manual!

I feel the same way.
Several years ago I divested from many watches. Just didn’t feel like they represented what I liked any more. Got rid of Cartier, IWC, bulgari, chopard and something else I don’t even remember. I consolidated my collection to just several brands and kept only special pieces. And I’m now interested in buying watches that 20 years ago I would think are for an old man. And I guess that’s where I am!

I'm a big fan of time only watches.
The rose gold case is lovelier than
the platinum imo. I asked the boutique
in NY if I could see one. They said they
were all in Japan and if I wanted to see it
I had to leave a deposit north of five figures
and if I didn't buy it they would not refund
the entire amount. They didn't say how much
would be deducted. Very disappointing.

I am very sorry to hear about this requirement from your dealer.
Many dealers I do know operate on this system but to me it is their loss because part of the watch buying experience is the customer service offered. An Eichi ll will always sell and any dealer who gets an opportunity should stock on or two in their shops. Yes it will affect their cash flow but if they truly are customer oriented and understand what an Eichi ll is all about, they would stock such a piece and even if they did not, they should not be asking you for a deposit because if you did not buy it, someone else would have. I love time only pieces too!

I have a simple policy which I follow strictly. When I buy a watch, another has to go. In this case it is my unworn Kikuchi Nakagawa Murakumo which ironically is worth more than the Eichi ll in the secondary market.
With a new flagship boutique, several thousand square feet, the idea that they cannot easily have one for you to see is silly.
I’d ask again. Especially is you are serious. There will be Eichi passing through I’m sure.
