An Allwrists strap for the 44GS case. Royal blue tegu lizard with folded edges. Seriously makes me consider my peacock as a dress watch now. It's like I'm seeing the peacock dial for the very first time again... Wow.

Grand Seiko needs to do this from now on.
I have gone through so many straps (lost a good deal of money 300+USD) trying to find a strap for this watch, including purchasing one directly from Grand Seiko, all of them failed miserably. The 44GS is a thick case and there is no beating around that bush, pretty much any strap that isn't curved and padded will fare horribly against it (unless you have the 10mm version of the 44GS). In the end I chose to go bespoke and pay up and it definitely payed off.
The strap and watch look great together.

I was hesitant about the prices
But they sure delivered well, I'd compare the quality of this strap to the sailcloths of Omega and Artem. I also had extensive interaction through email in terms of choosing the right leather, lining, stitching, all the works essentially. I'm curious about their rubber straps but I honestly think leather is the way to go.
Many compare it to the VC overseas
which I have yet to see, though from pictures neither are lacking in depth and richness. It's just that the GS has a stunning texture that occasionally pops out as well!

Thickness is a product of design
If you compare the evo 9 case and the 44GS with the same 9SA5 movement, the 44gs wears way thinner despite not being any thinner due to the lug design. Truly an interesting phenomenon. I love the original peacock in green and actually tried it before eventually purchasing the US exclusive one, my problem was the price mainly. Grand Seiko does glossy dials so well, they should honestly make more!
