I just found out that manual winding caliber 9S has a slip mechanism to prevent overwinding the mainspring
Thus less worry that we could damage the mainspring....cool. i always worry about overwinding my manual watches, since i broke the spring on my moonwatch.
The SBGW231 is pure beauty. 37 mm. Manual winding. 70 hour PR. Big crown easy to wind. Old school Lug holes. Box shaped crystal. Warm, vintage looking cream dial. No excessive text, just Grand Seiko and the logo. No date, no day...only time. And the price is a bargain.
The only downside is the strap that came with it

fewer repairs ... of course, if you are wide awake and sober when winding, why would you over-wind it?

I have had a great experience with this ref 255, and am glad that GS is aware of the hit they have on their hands with the recent release of 3 US specials with green dials.
Should they release another one with a grey or black dial, I would be happy to go for it again!
