Is this one....

IMO you behold the perfect Rolex in all senses. It has all the qualities of the near-perfect new Sub-C, minus the ubiquity, plus that extra charm, WEIGHT and (that is the best feature...) color subtleties (metal, dial and bezel change colors depending on the external factors).
It actually weights MORE than my (now gone, cause too bulky and loud) DeepSea.
Congrats to Rolex for making (again) the perfect diver, at ease under the sea (i've used it for scuba diving), at ease as a beater (can take a lot) and at ease as a summer daily watch, when a strap makes you sweat, even for "near-dressy" occasions.
Surely a keeper. THE must-have Rolex, IMHO.
No worries about the scratches: each scratch makes it more beautiful and lovable, the little scars of life fully lived!
Indeed, an advantage of gold is that it scratches easily: i hate a sports watch that looks "new".
OTHER OPINIONS?

I didn't intend to imply that my opinion is the only one right. I'm not so naïve. Sorry if that was unclear.
And, by the way, i don't like vintage rolexes: so your point must be right

The weight is impressive. You feel the quality of the case and bracelet immediately. The blue dial is brilliant and uplifting. I just haven't come to terms with a gold diver yet. If it was steel I'd have one without question. But for diversity and dressy occasions... why not? Best,
I much prefer this watch to a wg Daytona.
There are TONS of chronos much much better than the Daytona, from the high end brands. Yet the Sub is and will remain the King of classic divers, at least of divers on metal bands.
If you don't mind scratches (i don't), gold makes sense for a diver, as the resistance to corrosion from salt water is far better than that of steel.
It makes the watch a genuine tool, as well as unpretentiously elegant for the Summer. A Rolex is as hard as a mechanical watch can be, anyway, and with this touch of difference given by the weight and the blue, you get the maximum versatilty plus those special colors.
And you don't see it everyday on everyone else's wrist!
Yesterday in a small airplane i spotted 4 steel Submariners in 10 seconds, by the time i reached the toilets...
The SS Sub is a victim of its own success!
