It’s vintage looking, it’s sporty ish in a way. It has a good water resistance, the case has an odd shape, there are several area of the case that are polished as opposed to brush, which gives it almost dressy look. it’s almost awkwardly unique in a very good way!
It can also look good on this strap, but I don’t really have one perfect for it yet. And the bracelet and link is a real pain to put back on. Here are a few test I did with what I had a hand…
For now, I still prefer it on the original bracelet, but the black and gray strap are my favourites as an option. You?
I saw it the other day in the Tudor boutique and liked it a lot. Looks really good on the grey strap but the bracelet is one of the highlights of this watch !!
Well, my A.D. called me when he got the first one. But I also have a friend of mine that seems to be more passionate about it than I am so let's see how that pans out!

A California dial is a watch face featuring a mix of Roman (top) and Arabic (bottom) numerals, originally called a "high visibility" or "error-proof" dial to aid legibility for military divers in the 1930s-40s. The name "California" arose later in the 1980s due to a California company that specialized in refinishing these specific, popular vintage watch dials. Key Reasons for the California Dial Design: High Visibility/Readability: Created to ensure maximum legibility for combat divers in low-light or underwater conditions by using distinct styles for the top and bottom halves of the dial. Easy Orientation: The alternating Roman/Arabic numerals, usually paired with a prominent triangle at 12 o'clock and baton markers at 3, 6, and 9, helped divers identify the top and bottom of the watch instantly. Patented Functional Design: Rolex patented the design in 1942 for its high-visibility benefits. Art Deco Influence: The design was influenced by 1920s-30s Art Deco and Bauhaus styles, creating a unique aesthetic. The California Connection: The term grew popular in the 1980s when a California dial-refinishing company, notably Kirk Rich, handled a massive influx of these refinished watches, leading to the nickname. Hope this is the correct info, Dirk

I think I should be congratulating you since you appear to have recovered from horofatique! You have to be when it seems you are not 100% convinced, but ‘pulled the trigger’ anyways!😆 Thus reminds me of my experience with my Tag Heuer Skipper!
It's a nice looking watch in person!, so many people are focusing on the new BB right now. Next time I swing by the boutique I'll have to ask how the Monarch is being received.
