I saw the exact same models (and a two-tone explorer 1 and blue-bezel YM II) at my local AD’s window. Doesn’t say reserved, and they aren’t dummy movements on display-only pieces.

It's all become so stupid. Retail stores where you can't walk in and buy something, or at least something you like. This is going to turn off a lot of buyers, and already has
You're absolutely right Douglas, for watch people, this really pisses us off. BUT, for the SHEEP who buy these things in even greater quantities than we do... This really turns them on... Being able to say I got a watch that has a year long wait list, makes you really cool among your friends and colleagues in certain circles.
The AP Boutique in Bal Harbour (Florida) had ZERO product for a long time. The entire boutique was empty. Not even "Reserved" or "Display" pieces. Why pay rent on shop space? When I say display cases were empty...they were empty.
